Tyler and Alex met just over three years ago at a cozy brewery in Denver called Our Mutual Friend. Tyler was visiting their mutual friend Katherine on a layover while heading back to New York. After accidentally spilling a beer on him, Alex convinced Tyler to extend her trip and join their group of friends on a weekend getaway to Great Sand Dunes National Park.

The weekend ended, and Tyler went back to New York, but the two kept in touch like any millennials would—via Instagram DMs. They chatted about upcoming travel plans, the Mets, and who was the better aunt/uncle to Katherine’s puppy, Cece (still up for debate).

Months later, Alex asked Tyler on their first date… his friend’s wedding in New Jersey, where he was a groomsman. Without hesitation, she said yes, and the rest was kind of history.

Tyler would visit Colorado to spend time with Alex, where they'd hike together, attempt to improve their skiing, and Alex would try to convince her that Denver had good sushi despite being landlocked. In return, Alex would travel to New York to stay at Tyler’s tiny Chelsea apartment, shared with two roommates. They’d enjoy dinners at Via Carota or a late night slice at Joe's, meet up with friends in Hoboken, and spend time with family in New Jersey.

Although they lived in separate cities, both Alex and Tyler knew they had found "the one." After almost two years of trips, flights, and supporting each other through it all, Tyler moved to Denver in August 2023. They got their first apartment together in LoHi and began to build their life together—rewatching Entourage, cooking meals, going to neighborhood breweries, and taking trips together for friends' weddings.

On April 13, 2024, Alex convinced Tyler and her two visiting friends to hike up a snow-covered trail in Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the first hikes they ever did together. He proposed with a mountain backdrop, two amazing photographers, Morgan & Ali, and the sweetest surprise party after, planned with all of their Denver friends and moms who flew in to join.

Their latest adventure has been becoming dog parents to Olive, a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. Tyler and Alex are eagerly looking forward to all the adventures and milestones ahead, and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with everyone in July!
